Issue: On a small number of vehicles, the transmission shift cable may have been damaged during production. As a result, the transmission may not lock when shifted when shifted to the park (P) position. If this happens, and the parking brake isn't applied, the vehicle could move suddenly. Safety Risk: A parked vehicle that rolls away could create the risk of an injury or a crash. Corrective Actions: Porsche will notify owners by mail and advise them to take their vehicle to a dealership to replace the shift cable. To reduce the safety risk, Porsche recommends that you should apply the parking brake when parking the vehicle.

Issue: On certain Boxster GTS 4.0 and Cayman GTS 4.0 models, the rear vehicle electronics control unit may not have been programmed correctly during production. As a result, the rear spoiler may be too high and block the high-mounted stop lamp. This problem could also lead to poor handling. Safety Risk: A high-mounted stop lamp that is blocked may cause others not to recognize when the vehicle is braking. Additionally, poor handling could cause a loss of control. Both issues could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Porsche will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to reprogram the rear vehicle electronics control unit.
